It was quite early in the morning, the sun having started its way up above the horizon only a few minutes ago, and the vineyard was still relatively quiet. Some corvine birds had found a small creature that had crawled into the yard and died sometime during the night. And like always, a variety of insects buzzed back and forth, making nuisances of themselves.
Just about then, a smaller bird swept from a nearby tree-- intent on making a meal of one of the larger insects. It never got that far though, as its body suddenly flashed with fire, burning into ash within the duration of a few seconds.
Next, as the ash floated to the ground and the corvines fled, vines broke or bent as a large number of people and creatures suddenly appeared out of nowhere. And as a bit of dust whirled up around them, each realized that they were no longer where-ever they called home, their shock no less than that of the small groups of local people who had been on their way to work, and who had a clear view of the vineyard..

Marius Ellisar stopped short in his conjurings when he was suddenly in an entirely different place, and it seemed wholly different from home at first glance.
A moment ago he had been standing on the balcony of his tower summoning an end to a drought, and now he was in a strange vinyard, surrounded by creatures many of which he had never heard of. He still held a leather bound spell book opened in his left hand, and a black staff in the other. He wore dark blue robes and eyes the color of a crystal sea contrasted with olive skin and black hair.
"Where in the nine hells?" He trailed off on his thought. "Amalthia." His first assumption was that the Ancient who led the mage council had sent him here for a reason. It wouldn't be the first time she had transported people to other nations across the seas without warning.

Frost jerked her head back with a surprised snort as the water she had been drinking disappeared from beneath her muzzle. In the waters place was solid grass. Instinctively she let out a telepathic cry to her rider. A cry which failed; never had she felt so trapped inside her own mind. The terrified Unicorn and pegusis half breed swiveled it's equine about, shocked mind barely taking in the other creatures which surrounded her. Her body language was that of a horse prepared to run.

OC- Is it possible that Marius who can talk to birds might be able to speak to Frost as well? A creature with certain attributes of a bird.
IC-
The raven perched on Marius's shoulder croaked and called his attention to the panicking creature not far away. He strapped his spell book back his belt and started toward her.
"Hey it's alright." He said soothingly. "No one's going to hurt you."

The hounds had been right behind her as she ran through the snow. Mariko had just been deciding whether to put on one more burst of speed, or turn and face the beasts and their masters, when everything that was around her changed. She took a few stumbling steps forward, stopping her forward momentum awkwardly but effectively, set the haft of her naginata against the soft turf, and looked around.
She caught her breath at the bewildering array of people and creatures around her. Trying to focus, she chose one small scene to concentrate on first, lest the sheer amount of strangeness overwhelm her completely and ruin the illusion she maintained about herself -- she wanted to approach whatever this situation was from whatever point of strength she could take.
Not far from her, a man who looked like an occidental wizard was stepping toward a kirin, trying apparently to calm the creature, who looked thorughly panicked.
Mariko certainly couldn't blame her for that ...

OOC: Sorry, but i accedently posted this befor i realized the call, i notice it straght after and said darn....... sorry.
INC:The loudness of the wolves disappeared and Shamie groaned, rubbing her bottom as she got up off the ground. She looked around the clustered vine yard and saw a panicking pegacorn. A man who looked to be a mage what approaching it trying to calm it down.
She walked closer to watch to see if he succeeded. Trying to ignore the other noise was difficult, fortunately she was used to a lot of noise and being able to pick out separate voices was a trait piked up from her mother.

Blood mixed with deadly poison still covered the assassin's black claws when Kamiro appeared in the vineyard. He'd just finished an assignment that would have brought him enough money to take care of his every need for the rest of his unnaturally long life.
"What just happened?" He asked no one in particular, looking around in confusion. Seeing the crowd he quickly removed his claws and stored them away.

In another part of the field, one of those who had just materialized, cried out in surprise and scrambled for the nearest shadow-- where he more or less collapsed. Being someone used to the chilling cold of the arctic, even the relatively low temperature in a french vineyardat dawn came as a huge shock.
Pulling off the thick, fur-lined cloak he had been wearing, Jnar'thilar breathed heavily as he tried to cool himself-- cursing as any spells to bring the temperature down to a more tolerable level failed. Next he rid himself of the thinner jacket he had worn under the cloak and the boots he had been wearing.
If any of those standing throughout the vineyard were responsible for bringing him to this place, he would make sure that they would suffer. At the present though, the lot of them seemed like they felt as out of place like he did.
And as he swore mentally at anything that might listen, Jnar'thilar sighed at the all to sluggish response of the cells in his body as he tried to make a slight restructuration to help him deal with this place. Only a minute or so later though, he passed out from heat exhaustion and the strain he put on his body without the aid of magic.

Kamiro leapt up onto one of the trellises that remained intact in an attempt to get a better view. Of course this was a feat that would have taxed the balance of a cat, and the strength of the wood had he been a cat, but for him it was as nothing.
This was definitely not Zaia. "By the gods..." He whispered in amazement. "I need a drink." He found his flask after a moment and took a sip of the contents. He finally decided to jump down in front of a man who could have passed for Nania's brother if not for his clothing, wings and all.
"Do you have any idea what just happened?" He asked. "And... we might want to give that guy a hand." He pointed at someone who appeared to be unconscious a few yards away.
OC- Nania is Zaia's goddess of healing (Whom I also play in Zaia), he's met her and the god of fear, Halas

"Very smart." Kamiro said. "I see what you're doing. Never turn your back on an assassin." He started over to help. "But unless you've made anyone hate you enough to hire me to kill you, I'm harmless. Never do anything that doesn't profit me." He knelt down and pulled the other into a sitting position before giving him a good hard smack to wake him, throwing a little heat in with it.

OOC: I'm afraid the thinking part of her mind is all horse.
An unfamiliar scent reached her flaring nostrils. A strange man moved toward her muttering incoherently. Frost reared and let out a frightened squeal. A flex of her wings and she hit the air, causing dead leaves to stir erraticly.

Josie reread her mission file again. They were sending her to WHERE? Of all the messed up assassignments to get why did they have to send her to Pluto? Even Jupiter or Saturn would have been better! She was a fully qualified nurse and they were sending her to a DUMP like Pluto. With a screech the teenager balled the computer up and flung it at the wall. With a huff she snatched up her backpack and stormed out the door and into the kitchen... or so she thought.
Josie looked about in pure startlement, eyes roving over the concretefree landscape and it's odd assortment off creatures. Over there a weird cross between a bird and horse was having a major panic attack. And over there an unconcious heap lying in shadow, fur jacket near by.
Josie's training took over. She rushed over, automatically checking for a pulse.

Marius stepped quickly out of the way, and decided on a whim to try the same trick he used with the birds. It probably wouldn't work, but he could try. "Calm down now, you're safe." He said. The words were the same, but there was something indescribably different about his voice.

Kamiro jumped out of the way as someone else came over to help. He wasn't a healer, so he was better off staying out of the way.

Now the stranger was making shrill noises the grated against her skull. Frost schreeched again, and backed herself into a vine. The vine whiped back lashing her. Frost bolted.

Josie pulled back her hand with a hiss. The 'man' (although she was not quite sure thats what her was) was freezing and yet he was sweating like a pig. Think girl think! she ordered her self. Sweating meant overheating which meant he had a naturally low body tempreture so perhaps a heat induced shock? As with any emergency she didn't have time to question the therory. Josie slid her backpack off her shoulder and searched through for her medical kit. She pulled out a small silver box and snapped it open. Out of this she dragged a star shaped object which would lower the tempreture in the air just around the man. she set it to decrease as fast as it could and switch on the automatic shut off.
She pressed it against his forehead. Hopefully it would not take to long to have effect. The only problem she could foresee is what to do once he had been revived. It had a limited power source and could not run for more then a couple of days with out the battery dieing. Still it was the best she could do for the time being.

"Oh no." Shamie said as the pegacorn bolten. The mage sent a raven off after it. She dicided to try sort it out herself. She started running after the creature, true she wasn't the fastest around, but she could run for miles befor tireing. It wasn't long befor she caughts up with the pegacorn, but had to continue running.
"Calm down, we wont hert you" She said to the creature.
